Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev will meet in a middleweight bout at UFC 294 on Oct. 21 in Abu Dhabi. The battle promotion made the announcement on Wednesday night.
Costa (14-2) final fought in August 2022, defeating Luke Rockhold by determination. The win broke a two-fight skid.
Chimaev (12-0) is coming off a win over Kevin Holland at UFC 279 final October in a catchweight match. Chimaev badly missed weight through the weigh-in and compelled a shuffling of the whole primary card. He was initially alleged to face Nate Diaz.
Whereas his final battle was a catchweight match as a result of he didn’t make weight, Chimaev bounces backwards and forwards between middleweight and welterweight. He was final scheduled to compete as a middleweight in September 2020.
