CHICAGO – The College Athletic Affiliation (UAA) named College of Chicago’s Veronica Fong and Garrett Clasen as Athletes of the Week on Monday.
The Maroon swimming & diving groups made their season debuts over the weekend and gained 59 out of 64 whole occasions in split-squad duals with Illinois Institute of Expertise and Wheaton School.
Fong picked up UAA Ladies’s Diver of the Week following her pair of victories versus Illinois Tech. The UChicago rookie topped the one-meter dive with 252.67 factors and the three-meter dive with 275.79 factors. Her three-meter dive whole was an NCAA provisional qualifying rating.
Clasen secured UAA Males’s Swimmer of the Week with three wins towards Wheaton. The junior touched the wall in first within the 100-yard butterfly (50.30) and 200-yard freestyle (1:41.61). He additionally swam the second leg on the successful 200-yard medley relay (1:32.97).
