Former NCGA president John Nakamura acquired an award for 40 years of service as a match official. Joked Nakamura when he was instructed that he was being honored for his 40 years of service, “Oh, I assumed they had been simply recognizing me because the oldest volunteer.” Nakamura has been acknowledged by the USGA with the Ike Grainger Award for his service.
