1912—Cornell senior T.S. “Inform” Berna set an American Document of 9:17.8 for two miles in a twin meet towards Penn in Ithaca,NY. It was his 3rd Nationwide Document within the occasion and lasted 21 years.
Berna, a 2-time IC4A Champion at 2 miles (1910,1911), received gold within the 3000-meter staff race on the Stockholm Olympics later within the 12 months (fifth within the 5000).

1935—Future Corridor-of-Famer Helen Stephens, a 17-year-old pupil at Fulton H.S. in Missouri, ran 10.8 to set an American Document within the 100-yard sprint. She would run 10.8 twice later within the season and win the primary of her two U.S. titles within the 100. She received gold medals within the 100-meter and 4×100 relay on the 1936 Olympics (and was 9th within the Discus[!] in Berlin).

1968—Jim Baker’s triple-duty day led Harvard to a slim 79-75 win over Yale on his dwelling (cinder) monitor in Cambridge,MA. The Crimson senior received the Mile (4:11.8) and 2-mile (8:55.4) and completed a detailed second to teammate Royce Shaw within the 880 (1:48.5-1:48.6). Baker had run the third leg on the Harvard staff that received the 2-mile relay on the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
1974—Maren Seidler set the primary of her 9 American Information within the Shot Put, reaching 54-10 ½ (16.72m) in San Jose. Earlene Brown had set the earlier mark of 54-9 (16.69) 14 years earlier in Moscow. The Brooklyn(NY) native was inducted into the U.S. Corridor of Fame in 2000.

1996—Tiffany Smith jumped 13-7 (4.14m) at UCLA to interrupt Stacy Dragila’s 2-week outdated American Document (13-6 ½
[4.13m])
2001—Meb Keflezighi completed 4th within the 10,000-meter race on the Cardinal Inv. at Stanford in 27:13.98, breaking Mark Nenow’s earlier American Document of 27:20.56 set in 1986.
2008–In her debut race at a distance, Shalane Flanagan ran 30:34.49 at Stanford to interrupt Deena Kastor’s American Document for 10,000 meters. She improved the file to 30:22.22 when she received the silver medal on the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. (Since damaged by Molly Huddle-30:13.17/2016).
