The SJA Sports activities Awards had been first staged in 1949 and are the oldest sports activities awards in Britain. Sponsored by The Nationwide Lottery, the occasion, staged at The Brewery in Central London, was attended by greater than 300 friends from sports activities, politics, and the media.
