The Sydney Cricket Floor (SCG) in Australia has named a set of gates after Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies’ Brian Lara.
The ‘Brian Lara – Sachin Tendulkar’ gates had been unveiled on April 24, 2023, which coincided with Tendulkar’s 50th birthday and marked 30 years since Lara’s innings of 277 on the SCG. This honour places the duo within the firm of different legendary cricketers akin to Donald Bradman, Alan Davidson and Arthur Morris who even have gates named after them on the venue.
