CHICAGO – College of Chicago’s Twenty fifth-ranked girls’s volleyball program break up its two matches with a victory over St. Olaf School and a defeat to Aurora College to conclude its weekend on the Gargoyle Basic.
The Maroons downed St. Olaf in a back-and-forth 5 set-contest on Saturday morning after which suffered a 3-1 setback to Aurora.
St. Olaf
The Maroons dealt with set one, 25-21, to take an early lead on the Oles. UChicago trailed early on in set two and battled again earlier than falling within the body, 29-27.
The Maroons gained a lopsided set three, 25-12, and St. Olaf gained set 4 25-21 to ship the match to 5. UChicago secured the victory with a 15-10 victory within the fifth.
Diya Mishra racked up 17 kills at a .696 clip, including three service aces. Ellie Alden posted 14 kills, hitting .379. Maggie McInerny and Ella Mao chipped in 9 and 7 kills, respectively. As a workforce, the Maroons attacked at an environment friendly .227 share in comparison with St. Olaf’s .126.
Aurora
UChicago break up the opening two units by an identical scores of 25-20. Aurora took management on the halfway level, successful units three and 4 by scores of 25-18 and 25-20.
McInerny posted 13 kills whereas Ella Mao added 10. Maya Patel and Maddie Ryan mixed for 31 assists.
The Maroons play Illinois Wesleyan College at house on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m.
