The School of Alameda named Gary Payton Sr. as the brand new head coach of the lads’s basketball staff.
“Through the interview course of, he spoke about having our student-athletes locally, giving again. The vitality and keenness that he brings alongside along with his real love for the East Bay is unmatched,” mentioned athletic director Ramaundo Vaughn.
Payton was the pinnacle coach of NAIA Lincoln College in Oakland for the previous three years.
The School of Alameda went 7-21 final season.
