Everyone knows our very personal Joe Davis was destined to be nice because the “Voice of October Baseball.” It’s what he dreamed of doing since he was a child and now he’s finally making those dreams a reality.
Though the Dodgers obtained bounced within the NLDS, a chunk of us continues onto the World Sequence. Joe Davis has been play-by-play announcer for the crew since 2016, folling the legendary Vin Scully.
This 12 months, Fox seelcted Davis to be the postseason commentator and we couldn’t be happier for him. We simply want it was us he was commentating for within the World Sequence.
On Sunday afternoon, the Phillies clinched their spot in the World Series after defeating the Padres 3-1 within the NLCS. Within the eighth inning of Sport 5, Bryce Harper hit a two-run go-ahead homer that solidified the crew’s 4-3 win.
Proper after that ball made contact with Harper’s bat, Joe Davis knew the place it was going.
“It’s up within the air, left centerfield, Harper, the swing of his life!”
His name immediately went viral throughout Twitter as each LA followers and MLB followers normally felt like his description of the hit was spot on. At the very least one thing good to return out of this postseason (and naturally the Phillies sending the Padres dwelling).
However that’s not the primary name he’s gotten some love from this postseason.
We’re very fortunate to name Davis certainly one of our personal and we’re so pleased with him to have the ability to get this chance. He deserves it. Good luck on the World Sequence, Joe and hold having enjoyable.
