Chuck Liddell sends message to Cain Velasquez: ‘Keep sturdy brother’
Former UFC gentle heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell turned the latest fighter to weigh in on former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez‘ state of affairs.
Velasquez was arrested on Feb. 28 after allegedly ramming a car and firing a number of photographs throughout a 7-mile chase. Velasquez was allegedly pursuing a car carrying Harry Goularte, who has been accused of molesting a ‘shut relative’ of Velasquez. Through the incident, Paul Bender, Goularte’s stepfather, was struck by a bullet.
TMZ Sports caught up with Liddell over the weekend and Liddell threw assist to the previous heavyweight titleholder.
“Yeah that’s so humorous how simple it’s to get out, they usually’re letting all these loopy folks out. However, you may have an issue with letting [Cain Velasquez] out? I don’t know, I get it. In that state of affairs, I get it.”
Velasquez has been denied bail twice and stays incarcerated awaiting trial. The subsequent step in Velasquez’ authorized battle will likely be a plea listening to on June 10. If convicted of all the fees that he faces, Velasquez might probably spend the remainder of his life in jail.
