Chris Gonzalez is just not impressed by Usman Nurmagomedov’s previous opposition, and Nurmagomedov couldn’t care much less.
The Group Alpha Male standout is set to metal Nurmagomedov’s shine of their light-weight contest at Friday’s Bellator 283 and show he has but to face high-level fighters. Gonzalez (7-1 MMA, 6-1 BMMA) believes he’s a step above Nurmagomedov’s (14-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) earlier opponents.
“Usman is at present undefeated, and he doesn’t have one of the best resume, I might say,” Gonzalez stated at Wednesday’s media day for Bellator 283. “He hasn’t fought many guys, and so they’ve been constructing him fairly good, however I’m not overlooking him by any means. I do know what he’s able to.”
Gonzalez later added,
“He hasn’t actually fought anyone. He’s simply beat the competitors that they’ve put in entrance of him, handily so. However he hasn’t fought anyone of my caliber. Simply as he’s able to doing these issues, I’m simply as succesful, if no more.”
Nurmagomedov scoffed at Gonzalez’s claims. He doesn’t take them severely and identified that he nearly has twice as many fights as Gonzalez.
“Come on, brother, what number of fights does he have? Seven?,” Nurmagomedov stated. “Brother, I’ve 14 fights. I don’t know why he’s saying that. We’ll wait, and I’m going to point out him.”
