After C.J. Uzomah signed with the Jets final week on a three-year deal worth $24 million, the previous Bengals tight finish shut down claims that he joined the Jets to be nearer to “Good Morning Soccer” host Kay Adams, who is predicated in New York.
“Uh… idk what @DLInTheTrenches is speaking about. I’m not courting Kay,” Uzomah wrote in a tweet, tagging Dave Lapham, a podcast host overlaying the Bengals.
“My determination to go to NY was not about something apart from what was in my finest curiosity for me and my taking part in profession. Respect you, Dave, however needed to name this out when false rumors are spreading.”
Lapham later apologized in a separate tweet, writing, “Completely truthful, my apologies to you and Ms [Kay Adams].”
In one other tweet, Uzomah stated the current romance rumors about Adams took a toll on his relationship.
“My private life is my private life. My lady isn’t the happiest about these accusations, although,” he wrote.
It’s unclear who Uzomah’s lady is, because the 29-year-old tight finish is pretty non-public about his love life on social media. Uzomah had been beforehand romantically linked to “Survivor” contestant Lauren O’Connell.
Adams has not addressed the scenario publicly.
