Needing one hour and 42 minutes to seal his victory, Evans used his pin-point serve and slice backhand to offset his artful opponent.
Capturing his final time in Melbourne in 2021, Evans will transfer as much as No. 21 on the planet on Monday.
Griekspoor, who was aiming to win his third title of 2023, dismissed prime seed Taylor Fritz within the semifinals. The Dutchman might be ranked No. 26 on the planet when the most recent rankings are launched.
