CHICAGO — College of Chicago’s baseball program defeated Midwest Convention (MWC) foe Knox Faculty 14-2 in seven innings in its last dwelling sport of the 2023 season.
The Maroons improved to 22-15 total and 13-8 in MWC play with a wire-to-wire victory on Wednesday afternoon. Forward 6-0 after two innings, starter John Butka (3-1) maintained that benefit for a lot of the sport, putting out 11 over 6.0 innings of labor. Sam MacGregor and Sam Boswell mixed to report the ultimate three outs with the Maroons successful by run-rule for the third-straight sport towards the Prairie Fireplace.
Offensively, Erik Rindner led the lineup with a 5-for-5 day which included two runs scored and 4 RBI. Richard Lu and Blane Soper every had three hits in help as Soper matched Rindner with 4 RBI. Jack Goldstein and Braden Jirovec every had two RBI.
UChicago, which sits third within the MWC standings, will look keep or enhance upon its seeding this weekend for the upcoming MWC Event on the highway at Lawrence for a three-game collection, which ends the common season slate, on Could 6-7.
