MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The College of Chicago wrestling group claimed fifth place out of 18 groups on the MSOE Invite on Saturday.
The Maroons had 4 wrestlers place within the prime 5 of their respective weight lessons.
Gunnar Garriques led the UChicago contingent by taking second place at 197 kilos. The Maroon rookie posted a 4-1 document with one pin.
Griffin Seyfried captured third place at 133 kilos by additionally posting a 4-1 document and a pin on the day. The senior received his third-place match 3-2 over his opponent from Cornell School.
At 149 kilos, Brendan Connolly completed in fifth place. He went 3-2 total with one pin.
Wyatt Haynes rounded out UChicago’s prime finishers with a fifth-place displaying at 184 kilos. Haynes tallied a 3-2 document because the sophomore picked up his team-leading ninth pin of the season.
