Sylwia Mikos Named UAA Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO – For the second-straight week, College of Chicago ladies’s tennis participant Sylwia Mikos was chosen as Athlete of the Week by the College Athletic Affiliation (UAA) on Monday.

Mikos continued her fall season dominance this previous weekend on the Intercollegiate Tennis Affiliation (ITA) Cup. The three-day event included the 2022 ITA Regional champions and runners-up from throughout the nation. The Maroon sophomore secured the Division III singles title because the No. 1 seed within the bracket, going 4-0 general. She picked up victories over Carnegie Mellon College, Emory College, Pomona-Pitzer and MIT. Mikos additionally reached the doubles semifinals alongside Shianna Guo.

Mikos is now a two-time All-American in each singles and doubles in her two years competing for the Maroons. She additionally claimed ITA Central Area championships in singles and doubles for the second-straight yr.
