CHICAGO – The Intercollegiate Tennis Affiliation (ITA) Central Area Championships concluded with the College of Chicago girls’s tennis workforce capturing the singles and doubles titles on Monday and Tuesday.
In final weekend’s motion down in St. Louis, the Maroons turned in dominating performances and arrange all-UChicago finals in each singles and doubles. UChicago then opted to play the finals on its residence courts in Hyde Park.
On Monday, it was a matchup between the final two ITA regional doubles champions when sophomore Sylwia Mikos and Shianna Guo (2021 champs) took on seniors Claudia Ng and Perene Wang (2019 champs). Mikos and Guo defended their title by securing a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Tuesday’s motion featured a rematch of final 12 months’s ITA Central Area singles ultimate as sophomores Mikos and Miranda Yuan duked it out. Mikos got here away the victor by scores of 6-2, 6-1.
