How the Leagues Cup works
Our Leagues Cup TV Schedule has all of the listings for the annual event that includes golf equipment from the USA’s Major League Soccer and Mexico’s Liga MX.
Began in 2019 as a substitute for the previous SuperLiga competitors, the event is a chance for groups from the highest two leagues in North America to return collectively. Initially, this was a contest that solely featured choose groups from every league. The truth is, in each 2019 and 2021, the competitions had simply eight groups enjoying single-elimination bracket.
Nonetheless, beginning with the 2023 version of the event, the competitors expanded vastly. The event contains each staff in MLS and Liga MX. Subsequently, 47 groups compete within the competitors.
Each MLS and Liga MX pause their respective seasons for a complete month. Plus, there are respectable prizes at stake. The winner of the Leagues Cup clinches a spot within the CONCACAF Champions League spherical of 16. The runner-up and third-place finisher earn a spot within the CCL opening spherical for the next 12 months.

Initially Leagues Cup was an eight-team mini-tournament, and in 2022 was a one-time “Showcase” occasion with only some matches attributable to schedule congestion.
